QSM³ Tensegral Chiropractic

“Reduction of the upper cervical elements but continued misalignment of the pelvis sets up an ongoing situation of aberrant tension in the whole kinetic chain.”

Michael Thomas DC, QSM³ Innovator

D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, originally viewed structural health through the lenses of Tonal and Energetic principles. Today, this holistic understanding of 'Oneness' is resurfacing under the concept of bio-tensegrity. This marks a significant evolution in our understanding of human anatomy and physiology, aligning closely with the role of chiropractic as the architects of human posture.

Over time, gravitational stress compresses us, akin to a deflating balloon. This vertical shortening is a universal phenomenon rather than a localized one, contrary to the perspectives of many healthcare professionals who often emphasize joint degeneration, loss of curvature, bone bending, and localized symptoms. These issues are merely mechanistic indicators of a broader bio-tensegral collapse that is widespread, often referred to as “the grandma effect.”

This physical condition is observable to the naked eye, quantifiable through full spine imaging, and articulated in the QSM3 Posture iQ®. Symptoms and localized deterioration should be interpreted as signals from the Innate seeking support, rather than as the fundamental global cause.

Anatomists have characterized the human structure as Tensegral, while physiologists have explored its fascial connections and functions. Over twenty-five years of research has elucidated the harmful impacts of bio-tensegral breakdown.

The path is clear for chiropractors to define the restoration of human bio-tensegrity. In the past decade, the QSM3 methodology has aimed to accomplish this goal and, in my view, has succeeded. QSM3 stands out as the leader in bio-tensegral restoration, guiding a return to our tonal origins.
